East Fork:
A Journal of the Arts
My submission is an ASL handshape story that involves the numbers one through ten. I use the sign for each number to explain a fictional story about running late in the morning and rushing to get ready and on my way to school. It follows the order from one to ten and then from ten back to one. This number story begins with waking in the morning and realizing you're late using the numbers one through five. Then, getting dressed using the numbers six through nine. Then, realizing an article of clothing was forgotten and rushing back in to put the article of clothing on quickly. Finally, getting in the car and heading down the road. I hope it is enjoyed by those who view it.
